Revolutionizing Luxury Product Display

Bringing Hermès Silk Scarves to Life

Merging Tradition with Technology

I had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with the leading multimedia agency, AM-PM, on a visionary project commissioned by the globally recognized luxury brand, Hermès. Our objective was to craft a series of high-quality, photorealistic 3D models and renderings of Hermès silk accessories - notably, their iconic "Carrés" or silk scarves - meticulously knotted and adorned on human figures. Our intention was to redefine digital product presentation, striving for a level of detail that outmatches traditional photography, and furnishing a versatile tool for exhibiting diverse print visuals on the silk scarves.

Mastering the Art of Digital Knotting

Taking part in this ambitious endeavor necessitated more than just producing a digital replica of Hermès’ luxurious silk scarves. It demanded a detailed understanding and representation of the complex knots tied on these accessories in a 3D environment. Exploiting the benefits of 3D modeling, we were able to attain consistency and versatility beyond the realm of conventional studio photography. This innovative approach allowed for flawless transitions between different scarf designs, while maintaining a coherent lighting setup. The primary challenge lay in devising new workflows in Marvelous Designer to digitailor the intricate knots and the unique flow of the silk fabric authentically in 3D. Working in unison with the AM-PM team, we successfully breathed life into these elements, culminating in a series of remarkably realistic 3D models that encapsulated the elegance and sophistication of Hermès' silk accessories.
